Anyway not following his usual format of combining the television plot along with the story this version is an abbreviated, cleaned-up and much modernized language version of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Furthermore there are two types of simple pictures with those for the actual Romeo & Juliet then of course pictures of Wishbone.
What helps this Romeo & Juliet version to the younger audiences is that wherever Wishbone shows up he adds parts of the actual words of the play or discusses something that would be hard for them to understand. Furthermore he is the one that encourages the reader to go on with the story so in a sense he is a much relaxing break that tries to cut heaviness of this particular Classic.
The first time I read this version I didn't notice the small Wishbone but if you get an opportunity to flip the pages there is a small Wishbone who is running after a rose then upon catching it throws it back up in the air. Love this version! ( )
