Ritual Demise book 7 in the Cavendish and Walker series was terrific. George, a Forensic Psychologist, and Whitney, a Detective Chief Inspector, are like chalk and cheese and work so well together and adds to the enjoyment of the book. The intricacies involved in the planning of the murders made for a fascinating read. ( )

This is book 7 of the Cavendish and Walker series and I think it is one of my favorites. Lenchester has another serial killer, just after George commented that they had no cases. Will she never quit jinxing them?! This time the bodies are posed in Bluebell Wood resting on a pillow but the similarity ends there. The causes of death are different and there seems to be no connection between the victims. Will they find a connection before the body count gets higher? George, with her unique perspective, comes through again. Thanks to the author for the ingenious connection that made this book really unique. We also see more of Claire this time. I enjoy the comradery between these totally different characters who mesh so well despite their differences. We also see more of the backstories of Whitney and George. George's father is being investigated for "financial irregularities" and Whitney attends her reunion. That promises to lead to interesting developments in the future. I look forward to the next book in this series. Thanks to the author for allowing me to read an advance copy of this book. ( )
