Fantastic, quick read books that retell the plays written by Shakespeare. They are re written ( by Andrew Matthews) in a more modern everyday language that allows the reader to better understand the great written works of Shakespeare. Julius Caesar is the story about the first emperor of ancient Rome and the conspiracy to assassinate him by Cassius and Brutus because Caesar was becoming too powerful and cruel. It then moves onto Mark Antony and how his speech in honour of Caesar cited the civil war that followed his murder. ( )
