I love a good number of themes in my romance and this book has a favorite of mine: damaged hero a la PTSD abuse survivor Luke. For less than 100 pages I know not to expect major depth but this story is pretty solid.

It delivered enough FEELS without making me curl up in a ball, begging for hugs like they were going out of style. You know that barely there angst, like lower than a quiet simmer type of angst.

The author laid a great foundation in book #1. However, this book is better than #1 in my opinion. The characters are all hurt-y and need comfort-y and I likes, damn it!

Plus the sex...can I tell you every time I come across a switch in MM, disco music plays in my head. (Upside Down by Diana Ross in case you were wondering- I know you were so I figure I just let you know. :P) I was super excited when both MC wanted it.

And the sex was pretty good as well.

But you know what really got me into a fucking pile of girl gelatinous goo of pink sighs and squeals(doesn't happen as often as you'd think)?

This:

I fell in love with you on Monday." Daniel whispered.

Shock knifed through Luke. "What?"

"You were sitting on the porch and we watched the sun come up, same as every day, but that time I took you by surprise and you were startled."

"But the minute you saw it was me you relaxed and smiled. This huge grin that dimpled your cheeks and made your blue eyes spark with pleasure. It's the same expression I see when I am inside you, around you, looking at you. When you come and you open your eyes and you look at me I am lost."

*melts*

Yep it's instalove.

Yep, the ending was mush city.

Yep, I'm continuing with the rest of the series, might be a little predictable but I likes it muchly. 4.5 Stars" ( )
