I was already falling away from Christianity by the time I read the Narnia series as a child, although I did enjoy them for the story. very much like the movie. i do wish it kept all of the little things in the movie that the book has. a pretty easy read too. Always a marvelous read! I think this is about my fifth time through and I always love it.
When I began reading the story, it seemed well written but the fairy-tale atmosphere was curiously cut-and-dried... Two of my daughters re-educated me. I made the mistake of reading them the first chapter, and since then it has been two chapter a night, sometimes followed by tears when a third chapter is not forthcoming.
